From their beginners in the scientific laboratories and in research establishments, computers have evolved become essential for modern business and industry. Today their presence is left in all walks of life. Making passenger reservations for the railways and airline, processing students marks, forecasting the weather, producing movies and music for entertainment, helping hospitals and doctors to render better medicare to patients, Monitor and run all kinds of plants like power plants etc. They are even invading homes where they are used as a TV,fax,telephone, answering machine, video games, etc all in one. The effects are being felt all around you, especially in our office environment where apart from just processing information thy are also being used communications. So the question that arises in your mind is what is a computer?
